Microsoft Teams Phone Sales and Setup

MICROSOFT TEAMS PHONE SETUP AND SUPPORT

Microsoft Teams Phone turns Teams into your business phone system. Staff make and take calls in the Teams app on laptops and phones, or on Teams-certified desk phones, using the same tool they already use for chat and meetings. Bluetek sets up and supports Teams Phone for Central PA businesses on Microsoft 365.

What small businesses use it for

Teams Phone fits offices that already live in Microsoft 365. A typical setup includes an auto attendant, call queues for sales and service, voicemail to email with transcription, shared lines for reception and direct numbers for staff who need them.

Licensing quirks

Teams Phone is a separate license from most Microsoft 365 plans, and you also need a way to connect to the phone network: a Microsoft Calling Plan, Operator Connect from a carrier, or Direct Routing. Auto attendants and queues need resource account licenses. We pick the cheapest combination that covers your calling and explain it plainly.

Number porting

Numbers can be ported into Microsoft or to an Operator Connect carrier. We collect the paperwork, schedule the port and test every number and menu as soon as it lands.

Emergency calling

Teams requires emergency addresses tied to numbers and locations. We configure them so 911 calls show the right address, including for staff who work from home.

Problems we fix

We fix calls that won’t ring, queues that skip agents, poor audio, desk phones that won’t sign in and voicemail that never arrives. We check network quality, licensing and policies before touching hardware.

Devices and rooms

We deploy Teams-certified desk phones, headsets and Teams Rooms so the front desk and meeting rooms work as smoothly as the app.

How it fits our stack

Because we already manage Microsoft 365, identity and Intune, phone numbers follow the same onboarding and offboarding as email and laptops. Voice traffic is prioritized on our managed firewalls.

Training and adoption

Phones in Teams change habits. We run short training for reception and staff on transfers, parking calls, delegating lines and voicemail, and give managers a one-page cheat sheet.

Common-area phones

Lobbies, break rooms and warehouses can use shared Teams phones with a lower-cost Common Area Phone license. We set them up so they can call out and receive transfers without a full user license.

WHY OFFICES MOVE PHONES INTO TEAMS

TWO SYSTEMS

Staff juggle a desk phone system and Teams chat for the same calls.

REMOTE WORK

Old phone systems do not follow people home.

AGING HARDWARE

On-site phone servers near end of life.

LOST CALLS

No queue or voicemail routing when the front desk is busy.

WHAT WE SET UP

Teams Phone with a calling plan or another carrier connection.

CALL FLOWS

DEVICES

Teams-certified desk phones, headsets and room phones.

NUMBERS

Not every office should move to Teams Phone. For call centers or heavy reception work, we also sell and support 3CX.

Business desk phone in an office

TEAMS PHONE OR 3CX?

Both work well. Teams Phone fits offices already using Microsoft 365 heavily. 3CX fits busy front desks, call recording needs and offices that want more control. We will tell you which one we would pick for your office.
