HUNTRESS EDR SALES, SETUP AND SUPPORT
Huntress is a managed endpoint detection and response platform built for small and mid-sized businesses. A lightweight agent on each computer and server watches for attacker behavior, and Huntress’s 24/7 security operations center reviews what it finds and isolates infected machines. Bluetek deploys and manages Huntress for Central PA clients.
What it does
Antivirus catches known malware. Huntress looks for what attackers do after they get in: persistence tricks, suspicious remote tools, credential theft and ransomware staging. Human analysts verify each finding, so you get real incidents instead of a flood of alerts.
Typical small-business use
Most of our clients run Huntress on every workstation and server alongside Microsoft Defender, which Huntress manages. Many also add Huntress’s identity protection for Microsoft 365, which flags risky sign-ins, mailbox rules attackers create and logins from unexpected countries.
Problems we fix
When Huntress reports an incident, we follow its remediation steps, remove the threat, reset compromised accounts, check for spread and document what happened. We also tune exclusions for line-of-business software so legitimate tools aren’t flagged.
Licensing quirks
Huntress is licensed per endpoint for EDR and per user for Microsoft 365 identity protection, and it’s typically sold through managed service providers. Servers and workstations count the same. We keep counts in sync as computers are added and retired so you don’t pay for machines that are gone.
Why insurers like it
Cyber insurance applications ask whether you have EDR with 24/7 monitoring. Huntress answers yes, and we give you the documentation to prove it.
Deployment
We push the agent through our RMM tool with no user interruption, confirm every device checks in and set alerts for any machine that goes quiet.
How it fits our stack
Huntress sits alongside DNS filtering, email security, application control and backups in our layered security. Its alerts flow into our ticketing, so a real incident gets a technician immediately.
Security awareness and SIEM options
Huntress also offers security awareness training and a managed SIEM for log collection. We tell you honestly whether your size and compliance needs justify them, and integrate them if they do.
What an incident looks like
If Huntress finds an attacker, it can isolate the machine from the network in minutes. We get the report, call you, clean the device, reset passwords, check other systems and write up what happened for your insurer.
- Huntress licenses quoted and deployed
- Managed EDR, ITDR and security training under one console
- Incident follow-up handled by our local techs
WHY ANTIVIRUS ALONE FALLS SHORT
QUIET ATTACKERS
Ransomware crews log in with stolen passwords and use normal admin tools. Signature antivirus often sees nothing.
M365 TAKEOVERS
A phished mailbox can send fake invoices for days before anyone notices unless logins are watched.
ALERT FATIGUE
A tool that sends alerts with nobody to read them at 2 a.m. does not stop much.
CLEANUP GAPS
After an isolation, someone still has to rebuild, reset passwords and close the hole.
WHAT WE SET UP IN HUNTRESS
MANAGED EDR
Agent on every Windows and Mac device, with persistent foothold and process monitoring.
ITDR
Microsoft 365 login monitoring for impossible travel, risky inbox rules and session theft.
SECURITY TRAINING
Short monthly training episodes and phishing simulations for your staff.
REPORTING
Plain monthly summaries of what was found, isolated and fixed.
Huntress analysts review detections around the clock. When they isolate a device or send remediation steps, our team carries out the work and reports back to you.
